Two MS/PhD positions, or one Post-Doctoral positions are immediately available in the Advanced Photonics Laboratory (APL), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Chung-Ang University.

 

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our vibrant Lab to develop innovative optical sensing techniques (e.g., planar optical waveguide sensors, gamma-ray sensors, optical coherence microscopy) for industry, chemistry and biomedical applications. In specific, the candidates will develop optical coherence tomography angiography (a non-invasive high-resolution dynamic-scattering imaging technology based on interference) to investigate changes in cerebral blood oxygenation under the brain diseases such as stroke, clinical surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) for rapid diagnosis of acute infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and sepsis, and real-time ultrahigh sensitive waveguided bio-sensor for single molecule detection, which are the main themes of the long-term (>5 yrs) projects currently in underway.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a Bachelor or graduate degrees in, for example, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. Preferable candidates with experiences and backgrounds on at least one of the fields: integrated optics, fiber optics, laser physics, electronics, software programming, instrumentation, and biomedical optics will be highly desirable for these positions. The candidates are also required to have willingness for working with other colleagues and good skills in English is welcome. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
